What’s “inappropriate?”
Here are some examples of inappropriate behavior – red flags that a person might be a romance scammer:
Requests for money or donations
Harassment, threats, and offensive messages
Aggressive or manipulative behavior during or after meeting in person
Fraudulent profiles
Spam or solicitation including links to commercial websites or attempts to sell products or services
If you think it’s a scammer, block them (stop communicating with them) and report them to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Also, notify the dating site or app where you met the scammer.
